*= Returning State Qualifier

Argyle/Fort Edward

2021 Sectional Place: incomplete-Class D

Top Returnees: Jacob Durkee-Jr., Lucas Kingsley-Sr.

Key Losses: none

Team Outlook: Only had two runners last year but return both of them. Junior Jacob Durkee should be their top runner again and was in the mid 19 minute range. Senior Lucas Kingsley is about a minute behind him. Hopefully they can fill in their lineup which will give them a chance of a solid showing in the league.

Corinth/Hadley Luzerne

2021 Sectional Place: incomplete-Class D, 13th place Class D

Top Returnees: Noah Springer-Jr., Paul Granger-Sr., Ashton Tokarski-Sr., Dan Perkins-So., Loghan Palmatier-Fr., Zachary Fieldstadt-Fr., Nicholas Torino-So., Justin Hull-Jr., Aaron Hayes-So

Key Losses: Hayden Sirchia. Jack Martina, Liam Hughes, Matt Harder, Mason Dunn

Team Outlook: First year merged team which will really help the program's numbers but lost a bunch to graduation and runners deciding not to come out this year. Seniors Paul Granger and Ashton Tokarski bring back the best two times as they were both in the mid 19 minute range last year. Junior Noah Springer is next and was in the high 20 minute range last year. Rest of the returning runners were all over 22 minutes so there will have to be significant improvements from their fourth and fifth runners if they want to move up in the league.

Granville/Whitehall

2021 Sectional Place: 14th place-Class C

Top Returnees: Quinn Johnson-Sr., Hunter Rockenstire-Sr., Tristan Teer-Jr., Carter Powell-So., Oreston Bakemeier-Sr.

Key Losses: Matt Pietryka

Team Outlook: Lose their number two runner from last year but returns everyone else. Senior Quinn Johnson returns as their number one runner. He was in the mid 19 minute range last year and is a league preseason top 10 runner. Junior Hunter Rockenstire was their next returning runner and was in the high 21 minute range with the rest of the retuning team all over 22 minutes. They will need to see big improvements from most of the team if they want to compete more in the league.

Hartford

2021 Sectional Place: 12th place-Class D

Top Returnees: Bryton Mandigo-So., Hongxu Qjan-Sr., Hunter LaCross-Jr., Dominic Walker-Jr., Esau Day-Jr.

Key Losses: Logan Reynolds, Justin Nix

Team Outlook: Lose two out of their top five from last year, including their number one. Sophomore Bryton Mandigo jumps into the number one spot for the team and was in the mid 19 minute range last year. He is a league preseason top 10 runner. Big gap after Mandigo as junior Hunter LaCross and Senior Hongxu Qjan was more than two minutes behind. They will need to cut the gap to number one and hope that a couple of their new runners can stay close with the rest of the team to stay competitive in the league.

Lake George Warriors

2021 Sectional Place: 2nd place-Class D

Top Returnees: Liam Fahey Stack-Sr., Samuel Burns-Jr., Oliver Herrick-Jr., Brendan Battersea-Manna-Jr., Cameron Hoffis-Jr., Caden Willett-Jr., Everett McLarty-Jr.

Key Losses: Jake O'Keefe, Isaac Herrick

Team Outlook: Lose their second and third runners from last year but had great depth so it shouldn't affect them too much. Senior Liam Fahey Stack returns as their top runner and was in the mid 17 minute range last year. Juniors Samuel Burns, Oliver Herrick and Brendan Battersea-Manna step into the second through fourth spots and were all within a second of each other in the mid 18 minute range. Team is a strong favorite to repeat as their top six are all league preseason top 10 runners and have much more depth than the rest of the league. Have a great shot at repeating as sectional champion too.

North Warren/Johnsburg

2021 Sectional Place: 6th place-Class D

Top Returnees: Joel Rivera-Jr., Ayden Higgins-So., Jaden Maxwell-Sr., Thiegen Plumley-So.

Key Losses: David Anderson, Collin Monroe, Gage Morris

Team Outlook: Hit hard by graduation as they lose their top three runners from last year. Junior Joel Rivera comes back with the best returning time and was in the high 19 minute range last year. Sophomore Ayden Higgins returns as their number two runner and was in the low 20 minute range last year with the two other returning runners well behind. Will need to fill up their top five but only had one eigth grader in modified last year. Fro now I give them the benefit of the doubt.

Warrensburg/Bolton

2021 Sectional Place: incomplete-Class D

Top Returnees: Brody Olden-Sr., Joe Cian-Sr., Benjamin McKeiver-Jr

Key Losses: Brayden Olden 2

Team Outlook: Only had four runners last year and return three. Senior Brody Olden is the defending league champion and returns as their number one runner, and was just over 17 minutes last year. Senior Joe Cain was far behind him in the mid 20 minute range. Will need to hopefully fill up the team to be competitive. Olden is a good start but will need more to compete in the league.

Argyle/Fort Edward

2021 Sectional Place: 8th place-Class D

Top Returnees: Eica Sialunski-Jr., Carlie DePew-Jr., Mackenzie Heller-Jr.

Key Losses: Alyssa Freeguard, Sage Frank

Team Outlook: Only return three from their five runners from last year. For now, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that they'll be complete. Junior Erica Sialunski should be their top runner this season and was in the mid 23 minute range last year. Junior Carlie DePew is their number two and was just under 25 minutes last year. Team will need to build up their top five to be competitive this year.

Corinth/Hadley Luzerne

2021 Sectional Place: incomplete-Class D

Top Returnees: Rylee Dunbar-Sr., Allison Wiley-Fr., Katelyn Hanlon-Sr., Brianne Wiley-Jr. Zoey Prescott-So.

Key Losses: Katrin Schreiner, Jillian Richards 2

Team Outlook: First year as a merged team which will be a boost for both schools as combined gives them five runners returning. Senior Rylee Dunbar should be their top runner. She was in the mid 21 minute range last year and is a league preseason top three. Big gap after Dunbar as Freshman Allison Wiley is over two minutes behind in the mid 23 minute range with the rest of the team over 24 minutes. They will need to cut the gap to Dunbar and improve their depth to help themselves out in the league.

Granville/Whitehall

2021 Sectional Place: incomplete-Class C

Top Returnees: Natalie Morin-Jr., Cammy DeKalb-So.

Key Losses: none

Team Outlook: Were incomplete last year but return both runners. Both were over 26 minutes minutes so they will need to focuse on bringing up their numbers. Had a really good runner in outdoor and could be the top runner in the league if she comes out for cross country.

Hartford

2021 Sectional Place: 11th place-Class D

Top Returnees: Brynn Tyler-Fr.,Lily Stokowski-So.

Key Losses: Gabrielle McFarren

Team Outlook: Only return two runners from last year. Brynn Tyler returns as their top runner and was in the low 21 minute range last year and returns with the top returning time in the league. Team will have to focus on bringing their numbers up to complement Tyler.

Lake George Warriors

2021 Sectional Place: 4th place-Class D

Top Returnees: Taylor Syvertsen-So., Mattison Stark-Sr., Kayla Grant-Sr., Gianna Fasulo-Sr., Alexis Pape-Sr., Gretchen Barrett-Jr., Maggie Meehan-Jr.

Key Losses: Taylor McLarty

Team Outlook: Defending league champions lose their top runner but return everyone else. Sophomore Taylor Syvertsen should take over their top spot as she was in the mid 22 minute range last year and is a league preseason top five runner. Seniors Mattison Stark and Kayla Grant should be their next two runners and were in the low to mid 23 minute range last year. Rest of the returning team were over 25 minutes last year, so they will need their back end of their top five to close the gap to their first three runners to hold off the rest of the league. Usually has the best depth in the league which should be a big advantage.

North Warren/Johnsburg

2021 Sectional Place: incomplete-Class D

Top Returnees: Kara Tucker-Jr., Lillian SanAntonio-So., Erin Corr-Sr., Riley Mosher-So.

Key Losses: none

Team Outlook: Only had four runners last year but should return all of them. Junior Kara Tucker and sophomore Lillian SanAntonio return as their top two runners. Both were in the mid 22 minute range last year and are both league preseason top five runners, which gives the team a solid one-two punch. Senior Erin Corr comes in next and was almost two minutes behind. Team will need to bring their numbers up. If they can bring in a couple of runners that can compliment their top three then they will have a shot at Lake George for the league title.

Warrensburg/Bolton

2021 Sectional Place: incomplete-Class D

Top Returnees: Lillian Joseph-Jr., Mary LaBrecque-Sr.

Key Losses: Malia Prevost

Team Outlook: Only had three runners last year and lost their top runner. Junior Lillian Joseph is their top runner and was just under 26 minutes last year. They will need to focus on bringing their numbers up and work on getting a complete team.
