 Individual Predictions

1 Schuylerville 11-0 1 Tyler Bruce Schuylerville
2 North Warren 10-1 2 Ethan Clary Schuylerville
3 Granville   9-2 3 Greg Turcotte North Warren
4 Corinth   8-3 4 Ricky Sause Lake George
5 Lake George   7-4 5 Andre Ware North Warren
6 Greenwich   6-5 6 Aaron Fredette Granville
7 Tamarac   5-6 7 Pat Schulz Lake George
8 Argyle   0-7-4 8 Zach Haas Hadley-Luzerne
8 Fort Ann   0-7-4 9 Noah Dingman North Warren
10 Hadley-Luzerne   0-7-4 10 Frank Colvin Argyle
10 Hoosic Valley   0-7-4
10 Waldorf School   0-7-4

Looks to be a two team race between Schuylerville and North Warren. I currently give the slight edge to Schuylerville based on their top two runners but it looks to be really close. Three teams, Granville, Corinth, and Lake George, will be challenging for third place I give the early edge to Granville but Lake George could be stronger than I think. Individually, Schuylerville's Tyler Bruce and Ethan Clary had the best returning times by twenty seconds and should battle it out for the title. North Warren's Greg Turcotte and Lake George's Ricky Sause should be the challengers for those two.

Argyle Scots

League Record: 0-12 Sectional Place:  incomplete - Class D

Projected Varsity:  Tim Cox-So., Andrew Cox-So.

Outlook: Were incomplete last year and return two runners and with no modified coming up it doesn't look like they'll be complete this year. Both runners were over 20 minutes last year. They're young and should improve this year.

Corinth Tomahawks

League Record: 8-4 Sectional Place:  8th place - Class D

Projected Varsity:  Cody Mabb-Sr., Zach Cowles-Jr., James Germain-Sr., Patrick Marcel-Jr., Ben Carlini-Jr., Sean Walsh-Jr., Jared Baldes-Jr.

Outlook: Return their top five from last year. First four runners were all in the 19 minute range and look to improve their times this year. Need some help with the fifth runner as last year's was over 20 minutes. Good numbers so that should help them find a number five runner.

Fort Ann Cardinals

League Record: 0-12 Sectional Place:  incomplete - Class D

Projected Varsity: Andrew Callahan-Sr., Steven Price-Sr.

Outlook:  Only had two runners but they both return. Callahan was in the 18 minute range last year and can be a top ten league runner.  Price was in the 21 minute range and look to improve.

Granville Golden Horde

League Record: 11-1 Sectional Place:  7th place - Class C

Projected Varsity:  Aaron Fredette-Jr., Eric Guest-So., Ed Dieckert-Sr., Tyler Bardin-So., Paul Gerrone-So., Corey Flint-So.

Outlook:  Lost their top two runners to graduation and that will hurt. Fredette was in the 18's last year and is capable of being a top five runner in the league. Guest and Dieckert were both just over 19 minutes. Fourth and fifth were both over 20 minutes and they will need to improve their times if they want to move up in the league.

Greenwich Witches

League Record: 7-5 Sectional Place:  5th place - Class C (Class D this year)

Projected Varsity: Lucas Roods-Jr., Ren Roome-Sr., Pat McCormick-Sr., Kevin Pagano-So., Matt McKeighan-Sr., Tom St.Laurent-Sr.

Outlook: Hit real hard by graduation with four out of their top six gone. including league champion Jake D'Acchille. Roods was just over 19 minutes and the only returning runner that is under 20 minutes.  Definite rebuilding year with their fourth and fifth runners both over 22 minutes. Will definitely need to improve on times.

Hadley-Luzerne

League Record: 0-12 Sectional Place:  incomplete - Class D

Projected Varsity:  Zach Haas-Sr.

Outlook: Only had two runners last year and return one. Had a full modified last year so they may be able to field a full team. Haas was in the mid 18's last year and could move into the top five in the league with some improvement. Rest of team will be young and will need time to develop.

Hoosic Valley Indians

League Record: 4-8 Sectional Place:  7th place - Class D (Class C this year)

Projected Varsity: Kevin Delano-So., Dylan Sanderson-Sr., Casey Daurio-Jr.

Outlook: Lose their top two runners to graduation which is a huge loss since their three returning runners were all over 22 minutes last year. Time to rebuild the team and the need to get big improvements from their returning runners.

Lake George Warriors

League Record: 12-0 Sectional Place:  3rd place - Class D

Projected Varsity: Ricky Sause-Sr., Pat Schulz-Sr., Nick Hunsinger-Jr., Ben Newton-Sr., Aaron Resnick-Jr., Ben Sahler-Sr.

Outlook: Defending league and Section 2 Class D champ were slammed by graduation and they lose their top three runners. Not a total loss as Sause and Schulz were both in the low 18 minute range last year and are two of the top runners in the league this year. Problem is their fourth and fifth runners as they were over 23 minute minutes last year. Will need big improvement from thos runners to move up in the league.

North Warren Cougars

League Record: 9-3 Sectional Place:  6th place - Class D

Projected Varsity: Greg Turcotte-Sr., Andre Wade-Sr., Noah Dingman-Jr., Ryan Wade-Jr., Stu Mean-Jr., Zack Smith-Jr., Jeff Bennett-Fr., John Mulligan-Sr., Pete Aiken-Jr., David Fish

Outlook: Return their top five and bring up a modified team that won the league title and should be one of the favorites for the league title. Turcotta was just under 18 minutes and is one of the top runners in the league. Andre Wade and Dingman were both in the 18 minute range, with their fourth and fifth runners in the 19's. Need a little improvement from thrid to fifth if that want to beat Schuylerville.

Schuylerville Black Horses

League Record: 10-2 Sectional Place:  9th place - Class C

Projected Varsity: Tyler Bruce-Sr., Ethan Clary-Jr., Shane Wagner-So., Brandon Ricci-Sr., Jonah Eustis-Jr., Kyle Fassett-Jr.

Outlook:  Lost their top runner from last year but return everyone else. Bruce and Clary have the top two returning times and give the team a big boost. Are a favorite to win the league but will want to get more help from their number five runner and he was over 20 minutes last year.If they can do that and pick up a couple of new faces then they may win the league title.

Tamarac Bulldogs

League Record: 6-6 Sectional Place:  10th place - Class C

Projected Varsity: Matt Trzcincski-Jr., Andy Gilchrist-Fr., Brian Street-Jr., Aaron Estabrooks-So., Matt Phelps-Sr., Wilson Cahill-So., Mike Rogers-Jr.

Outlook: Lose their top runner but return the rest of their top five. Trzcincski and Gilchrist were both just under 20 minute but the rest of the team was over 22 minutes so they will need to improve on those time if they want to move up in the league.

Waldorf School

League Record: 0-12 Sectional Place:  Does not run in sectionals

Projected Varsity:  none

Outlook: Had no varsity or modified runners last year so they will have to concentrate on getting some runners.

4 Corinth     9-3 4 Chelsea Borbolla Greenwich
5 Schuylerville     8-4 5 Alyssa Bonnier Hoosic Valley

9 Hadley-Luzerne     0-8-4
9 Waldorf School     0-8-4
9 Lake George     0-8-4

Greenwich is once again the clear favorite to take the league and sectional title. Hoosic Valley should once again take second in the league but third place is a toss up with Argyle, Corinth, and Schuylerville all having at shot. Individually, Greenwich's Caitlin Lane is the big favorite for the league title with her teammate and last year's champion, Emily Fung challenging her.

Argyle Scots

League Record: 10-2 Sectional Place:  6th place - Class D

Projected Varsity:  Crystal Noble-Fr., Elizabeth Fullerton-So., Brianna Lyons-So., Mikayla Rivers-Jr., Hilary Shippee-So., Sam Longdaue-So., Alexis Mazzochi-Jr.

Outlook: Only lost their third runner, rest of the team is young but has experience. Noble and Fullerton are both in the 22 minute range but the rest of the team is over 24 minutes and they will need to improve the third through fifth spots though it still be tough for them to move up in the league.

Corinth Tomahawks

League Record: 10-3 Sectional Place:  7th place - Class D

Projected Varsity: Tina Ganter-Sr., Danielle Koster-Sr., Ivy Lynn-Jr., Shantell Olmstead-Jr., Arielle McTiernan-So., Kristen Schultz-So., Chelsea Halliday-Jr.

Outlook:  Return their entire team but times will still need to improve. Ganter and Koster were both in the 23 minute range with Lynn and Olmstead in the 24's. After that the rest of the team is over 26 minutes. Will need some help if they are going to move up.

Emma Willard Jesters

League Record: 5-4 Sectional Place: 10th place - Class B

Projected Varsity: Elizabeth Stillman, Julie Schaeffer, Julia Comeau-Jr., Hela Brokaw, Alex Fratkin, Marianna Neubauer, Allison Chansky

Outlook: Always a tough team to do. Seem to have an different bunch of runners every year but they always usually have a full team. Runners from last year were all well over 24 minutes so if those runners return they will need to improve their time drastically if they want to move up in the league,

Fort Ann Cardinals

League Record: -13 Sectional Place:  incomplete - Class D

Projected Varsity: None

Outlook: Had no runners last year and three on modified last year. Will have to concentrate on filling up their team first.

  Granville Golden Horde

League Record: 3-10 Sectional Place:  incomplete - Class C

Projected Varsity: Kayla Martel-So., Maghan Scott-Jr.

Outlook:  Return the only two runners they had last year. Martel was in the 22 minute range and Scott was in the 24's. They may or may not have a complete team this year. If they do it will be filled by unproven freshmen.

Greenwich Witches

League Record: 12-0 Sectional Place:  1st place - Class D (Class C this year)

Projected Varsity: Caitlin Lane-Jr., Brittany Lane-Fr., Emily Fung-Jr., Ashley Fung-Jr., Chelsea Borbolla-Sr., Brittania O'Keefe-Jr., Kara Alheim-So.

Outlook:  Defending Section 2 Class D team moves back up to Class C and adds the Lane sisters to make them even stronger. Should easily win the league and Class C title again. C.Lane will be one of the top runners in the state add have a strong top five with her sister, the Fung sisters, and Borbolla. The only real problem they'll have to deal with until states is staying healthy.

Hadley-Luzerne

League Record: 0-13 Sectional Place:  incomplete - Class D

Projected Varsity: none

Outlook:  Had no no varsity runners last year but a full modified. Will have to work on filling the team then they can concentrate on their league standing.

Hoosic Valley Indians

Leauge Record: 10-3 Sectional Place:  2nd place - Class C

Projected Varsity: Alyssa Bonnier-So., Emma D'Ambro-So., Caitlin Culver-Jr., Molly Stevens-So., Molly Moran-Jr., Emilee Bonnier-So., Julie Koehler-Jr.

Outlook: Returns their entire team are a solid 2nd place in the league but Greenwich looks too tough for them to challenge for first. Bonnier is one of the top runners in the league and D'Ambro and Culver were both in the 21 minute range. Fifth and sixth runners are in thr 23 minutes range and will need to improve their times for any possible improvement in Class C.

Lake George Warriors

League Record: 3-9 Sectional Place:  incomplete - Class D

Projected Varsity: Kristina Dreps-Jr. Lani Aulicono-Jr., Courtney Martindale-So.

Outlook: Finished with three runners last year and return them all. Dreps is their number one and she was just under 25 minutes. They'll have to improve their times and fill their lineup if they want to move up.

North Warren Cougars

League Record: 0-13 Sectional Place:  incomplete - Class D

Projected Varsity: Sarah Turcotte-Fr., Morgan Wilson-Fr., Natasha Leuchanka-Sr., Lisa Hodey-Jr., Lindsey Maresca-Fr., Crystalee French-Fr.

Outlook: Had no varsity runners last year but will field a full team this year. Turcotte come up from modified where she was undefeated last year and should have a successful varsity season. We'll have to see how the rest of the team stacks up but they should do well in the league.

Schuylerville Black Horses

League Record: 6-6 Sectional Place:  7th place - Class C

Projected Varsity: Rachel Wysocki-So., Holly Butler-Jr., Samantha Barnum-Jr., Cassidy Martin-So., Zoe Bartholmay-Sr., Amy Baker-Sr., Stephanie D'Amelia-Jr.

Outlook:  Returns everyone from last year. Wysocki was a state qualifier last year and should be one of the top runners in the league. Butler was in the low 22 minute range but the rest of the team was well over 24 minutes and will need to improve if the want to move up in the league and in Class C.

Tamarac Bulldogs

League Record: 5-7 Sectional Place:  10th place - Class C

Projected Varsity: Mollie O'Brien-So., Megan Fitzgerald-Jr., Katherine Joy-Sr., Bridget Stevens-Sr., Samantha Clayton-Jr., Lauren Teal-Jr.

Outlook: Lost two of their top seven to graduation. O'Brien and Fitzgerald we in the 24 minute range. Everyone else is over 27 minutes. Times will need to improve across the board to move up to the missle of the pack.

Waldorf School

Leauge Record: 0-12 Sectional Place:  Does not run in sectionals

Projected Varsity: Natalie Zemba-Jr., Gabrielle Rice-Sr.

Outlook:  Only had two runners last year but they both return and they also had a good modified team last year so they may be complete this year. Zembta was in the 24 minute range and Rice in the 25's. Their success will be determined on how the younger runners develop.
