Section 2 Top 25 Girls Cross Country Teams

1 Saratoga Springs A Suburban Return 4 out of 7 but JV was just as deep...5 man spread of 17:53-18:36 will once again make them one of the top teams in the nation
2 Colonie A Suburban Return 5 out of 7 with 18:18-19:19 spread...Good mix of youth and veterans...still will be one of the top teams in the state.
3 Shaker A Suburban Will challenge Colonie for 2nd as they return everyone...5 man spread of 18:24-19:26 led by Christine Snyder.
4 Holy Names B Colonial Tough top 3 return and 5 out of 7...5 man spread of 17:53-20:20...Need 4th and 5th to improve if they want a shot at the Class B state title.
5 Queensbury B Foothills Lose only the 1st runner...5 man spread of 18:58-20:54...Should Challenge Holy Names for Class B title but may need a little more depth.
6 Chatham C Patroon Lose a big top two with Sarro and Hudson but return some good young runners...5 man spread of 18:51-22:56...Need a little more depth but could still repeat.
7 Columbia A Suburban Return 9 out of 10 and could challenge Colonie and Shaker if their depth improves...5 man spread of 18:52-19:58.
8 Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake B Suburban Lose top runner but has enough coming back that they should challenge for Class B title...5 man spread of 19:06-20:44.
9 Bethlehem A Suburban Return top 8 runners lead by Katie Parafinczuk but tough to move up in Suburban Council... 5 man spread of 18:49-20:10.
10 Shenendehowa A Suburban Return 5 out of 7 with 5 man spread of 19:29-20:10...Nice pack but it needs to move up if they want to be competitive in Suburbans.
11 Guilderland A Suburban Return top 3 and 5 out of 7 with 18:53-20:17...Can move up some places in Suburbans with a little improvement.
12 Niskayuna A Suburban Return Catilin McTague, one of the top runners in the section and only lose their 3rd runner, but needs imrpovement from 3-5 runners...5 man spread of 17:47-21:17
13 Cobleskill-Richmondville B Colonial Only lose 3rd runner and could move up in Class B...Needs improvement from 4 and 5 runners...5 man spread of 19:16-21:34.
14 Scotia-Glenville B Foothills Takes a big hit losing their top 3 runners and only return 4 runners...Looks to be rebuilding with some young runners.
15 Cohoes C Colonial Young but very experienced team could lead them to Class C title...5 man spread of 19:47-22:21...May need a little more depth.
16 Galway D Tri-Valley Return 5 out of 7 including top 3...Favorite to repeat as Class D champ but could use improvement from 4th and 5th runners...5 man spread of 19:49-23:36.
17 Lansingburgh B Colonial Return 5 of 7...Rebuilding with some young runners and should see improvement next year...5 man spread of 20:14-23:21.
18 Averill Park B Suburban Only lose their 6th runner...Still very young...5 man spread of 20:32-21:19...Nice pack but needs improvement to move up in Suburbans.
19 Schuylerville C Wasaren Only return 4 runners and lose big runner with Jessica Pettis...Rebuilding with some younger runners.
20 Bishop Maginn A Big 10 Return 6 of 7 with Alyssa Lotmore leading the way...5 man spread of 18:23-22:25...Favored to win Big 10's again...May move up in Class A.
21 Fonda-Fultonville C Tri-Valley Return top 3 lead by Laura Subik but needs improvement from 4th and 5th runners to be competitive in Class C.
22 Catholic Central A Big 10 Lead by Chelsea Fitzgerald but lose 2nd and 3rd runners...Younger runners need improvement to take back Big 10's...5 man spread of 19:38-24:20.
23 Hoosic Valley D Wasaren Return 5 of 7 including top runner Autumn Karweil...Needs BIG help from 4th and 5th runners if they want to challenge for Class D...5 man spread of 19:25-26:30.
24 Duanesburg D Tri-Valley Only lose 3rd runner but only had 5 to start with...Lead by Nancy Fullman, can compete in Class D if they pick up some depth.
25 Schalmont B Colonial Only lose 2nd runner...5 man gap of 20:36-21:56...Needs some improvement if they want to move up in Class B.
 

Honorable Mention:

26. Corinth - Solid top three but needs big improvement from the rest for Class D title.

27. Ballston Spa - Could be a big dark horse with some very good young runners coming up.

28. Ichabod Crane - Returns everyone, but they all need to improve to be competitive.

29.Johnstown - Return 5 out of 7, but losing Christina Johnson will a big hit for them in the Foothills.

30.Glens Falls - Return a young top 7 should see some very good improvement.
